With so much of our precious time being spent on other people and life’s responsibilities, it can be easy to forget to slow down, tune in and spend some time on ourselves.

I am sure many of you can relate, I used to wait until I was super run down or sick in order to take some time out. It’s only the past few years I have become far more intuitive with my body and realised when it needs some downtime. I have learnt that giving back to yourself isn’t selfish and spending money on your health isn't a waste.  At the end of the day we are far nicer humans when we take some time to give back to ourselves. Don’t you agree?

That being said, I wanted to share some of my favourite self love rituals I schedule into my life.

“When we learn to nurture ourselves on a regular basis, we are more open to enjoy life with gratitude and fluidity”

One of my favourite self care “appointments” to make is a Colonic. Our bowel movements may be a slightly “taboo” topic but I am personally quite open it! A healthy Colon is so important for your overall vitality, skin, mood and much more! I personally have had incredible results with regular colonics and can’t see myself stopping them anytime soon!

What is a colonic?

Undigested food caused by overeating, stress and intolerances can create mucus buildup in the colon. This can produce excess toxins, weakening your optimal health. Showing in excess fluid, weight and skin issues. By removing a build up of waste from the colon, a detox process can begin. It’s a safe and natural treatment that if proven to deliver a range of health benefits! Think of it as an internal cleanse that shifts and flushes out toxic waste, excess gas and mucus. It can be performed on all ages and you don't have to be suffering from any gut/bowel issues to benefit!

I have been to a few colon hydrotherapy places in Brisbane but i can’t speak more highly about Nadia and her team at Vitalita Detox Space. Check them out HERE Also if you mention my name, she will offer you a generous discount off your first one! You can read more here -

I cant justify in words, the wonders Kinesiology has done for me. About a year and a half ago I was lucky enough to meet Sarah from IGNITE KINESIOLOGY. I was going through a rather rough time when we met, and boy am I glad our paths crossed. Sarah is not only one of the most genuine, kind and loving humans I have ever met. She makes you feel like you can tell her anything without fear or judgment. Kinesiology for me, is like therapy. I always leave each session feeling aligned, light, and as if 100 bricks have been lifted off my shoulders.

What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a stress management tool that, through the use of a muscle test, can locate blockages and hurdles contributing to ill health, dis-ease and unbalanced behaviours. Once the stress is removed, the body has the opportunity to return to its natural state of functioning and being. Kinesiology is a beautiful combination of Eastern philosophies and Western Science. It is a modality that has no limit to what it can assist with and will ALWAYS improve quality of life. You can read more HERE

Last year I attended my first breath workshop with the 02AWAKENING not only was it a truly transformational experience, it taught me about the importance of breath in everyday life. When ever I am feeling overwhelmed or anxious I lie down on the ground (in savasana pose) and repeat breath exercises until I am feeling calm.

Why Breathwork?

There are many styles of breath work and although it’s about finding what works best for you, the power it has on your mind and body is remarkable. Deep breathing has the ability to instantly calm the nervous system and bring the body back into rest and digest. Breathing slow, deep, mindful breaths activates the hypothalamus which is connected to the pituitary gland in the brain. This sends out neurohormones which inhibits stress-producing hormones and sends relaxation messages to the body. Just 5 minutes of breathing a day can do wonders for your overall health.

Morning and afternoon walks have become a non-negotiable for me these past few years now. I find having an hour to myself in nature to be within my own thoughts, leaves me feeling so grounded and centred. I love to pop on a motivational podcast or simply listen to some calming music.

Why should you incorporate daily walks?

Daily walks have a plethora of health benefits. Here’s just a few - Improves your mood, helps digestion, reduces cellulite, can spark creativity, boosts healthy blood flow, clears the mind and improves sleep. Plus its completely free!
